The Team
At Silex, our Furnace team is central to depositing different films using LPCVD or thermal oxidation technique on silicon substrate—an essential step in the fabrication of all our products. As part of this dedicated team, you’ll contribute to and develop your skills alongside 6 talented team members, both engineers and technicians. Together, we own the furnace equipment and processes, continuously monitoring performance and driving improvements. Our mission is to accelerate the introduction and development of new products while ensuring smooth, high-quality production.
The role
In this role, you are responsible for ensuring that manufacturing goals are achieved in close collaboration with operators and service technicians. Your workdays will be varied, combining cross-functional meetings with Product Managers and hands-on development of new processes that meet customer specifications.
You will play a key role in expanding and strengthening our technical capabilities at Silex, with epitaxially grown polysilicon (epi-poly) being one important focus area.
An equally important part of the role is contributing to structured and efficient ways of working. You will help develop clear work routines for operators, troubleshoot and resolve issues within the area, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workflow, quality, and overall process performance.
In this role, you will:
Develop, maintain and improve Furnace processes and epi-poly processes.
Establish, and maintain routines and documentation.
Handle stopped production batches and development material together with process integration engineers (PIs).
Participate in process qualification of new equipment/materials and release to them production.
Participate in the startup of new products, review specifications and process flows.
Take responsibility for area equipment, improving the tool uptime, maintain and develop new standardized process modules.
Collaboration with all levels of the organization and external vendors of the materials and equipment.
We are looking for someone who has:
A PhD or a Master’s degree in Engineering, specializing in Applied Physics, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
Experience with epitaxially grown polysilicon (epi-poly) or other epitaxial growth techniques.
An understanding of LPCVD, thermal oxidation technologies, and semiconductor processing principles (considered an advantage).
Hands-on experience operating furnace equipment, including in-line metrology equipment (considered an advantage).
The ability to identify improvement opportunities and manage projects to implement those improvements.
One or two years of experience in an engineering role, preferably in production or development environments (considered a bonus).
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Strong documentation and quality management skills.
Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in Swedish is considered a merit.
What we offer you:
The chance to work closely with fantastic colleagues.
The opportunity to work with the latest technology in MEMS.
To be part of a leading company driving technology development in the industry.
Strong knowledge exchange with the world's foremost experts in process integration and process development of MEMS.
